Create a PDF from Photos

Often the only copy of a document is a photo: you snapped a passport, a receipt, or a signed sheet and now need to send it as a PDF, not a scatter of images. Turning photos into one tidy file takes a couple of minutes — if you know what to watch for when shooting and when assembling.

Take good photos first

Everything downstream depends on the shots. A few simple rules:

• Shoot in even light, with no shadow from your hand or the phone.
• Place the document on a contrasting surface so the edges are visible.
• Hold the camera parallel to the page, not at an angle.
• Capture the whole sheet with a small margin.

How to build a PDF from photos, step by step

1. Open jpg-to-pdf and upload all the shots. 2. Arrange them in the order you want — this becomes the page order. 3. Run the build and download the finished PDF. 4. Open the file and check: pages in order, nothing rotated, text readable. 5. Fix individual pages if needed — rotate with rotate-pdf or trim with crop-pdf.

What can go wrong

• A page is sideways. Phones sometimes record orientation wrong. Turn that page with rotate-pdf.
• The table and background got into the frame. Trim the extra with crop-pdf so only the document remains.
• The final file is too large. Phone photos are heavy. Compress the document with compress-pdf before sending.
• You can see the text but can't search it. A photo is an image, not text. If you need search or copy, run the file through ocr-pdf.

What to check before sending

• All pages are present and in the right order.
• Nothing is rotated or cropped in half.
• Text is readable without heavy zooming.
• The file size fits the email or form.
