How to remove pages from a PDF

There's almost always something extra in a document: a blank sheet after scanning, a duplicate page, a draft version of an appendix, or a section a particular recipient shouldn't see. Dropping those pages to leave a clean document is a simple job — but you have to remove exactly the right ones and leave the rest untouched.

How to remove pages, step by step

1. Open remove-pages and upload the document. 2. Use the thumbnails to find the pages you want gone. 3. Mark them — one by one or as a range. 4. Remove them and download the result. 5. Open the finished file and scroll through it all: everything needed is present, and the order didn't shift.

What can go wrong

• You removed the wrong page. Usually it's a numbering shift: a scan's first sheet may be a cover or a blank, so the numbers slide. Match against the thumbnails, not the printed numbers.
• You need to clear many blank sheets. If there are dozens (common with duplex scanning), the automatic remove-blank-pages beats picking by hand.
• You're keeping few and discarding many. Then it's simpler to extract what you want with extract-pages instead of removing.
• You actually want to reorder, not delete. If a page isn't extra but just out of place, use organize-pdf.

What to check before sending

• Only the extra pages are gone; everything needed remains.
• The order of the remaining pages is intact.
• No blank sheets or duplicates are left.
• The document holds no sections not meant for this recipient.
